Posted by admin | Interior Design | Posted on February 20th, 2009

The first rule for the purchase of art is love her. The second rule is to be able to pay for it without taking a bank loan. And, in item # 3? Feeling good about what you paid for it.

So how do you know that an artwork is worth the price? If you like and can afford it, should you buy?

We asked more than a hundred professional interior designer for help. We ask them to review artwork and tell us what you think about the quality of work and price. Each designer chose five pieces of art to the review by more than 4000 original and limited edition works of art created by independent artists whose work is available in www.DiscoveredArtists.com.

The designers were asked to comment on how they could use the technique in fourth interior design, and were asked to only review the works of art that in his opinion is worth the price. In other words, I would recommend that his client purchased this piece of art to that. This is what they said:

Symington Terry is principal designer and owner of T. Symington & Co. Interiors in Brenham, Houston and Austin, Texas. She is a big fan of using art in their interior designs, and suggests that “For the rooms that lack a good focal point, a large painting makes a great statement!”

Rondel Fleurs by Lisa Carney

Mrs. Symington considered Fleurs # 19 Rounds, 12 “x 18″ collage contemporary Canadian born artist Lisa Carney. The artwork is a mixture of media in the panel’s original price of $ 115. Lisa Carney is a formal training, new, full-time artist who is represented by galleries. She creates abstract, modern, and multimedia works of art using methods and materials. His work is especially suitable for the design of interior decoration.

Symington’s review of Fleurs Rounds 19: “I would love to see a grouping of several Ms.Carney ’s collages in an interior for a great statement. The combination of materials, textures and colors are very nice setting … makes the prices very affordable! ”

Elaine Buderer, principal designer for the Restoration of the interior design, LLC in Columbia, Maryland, writes, “art brings life in a good space,” adding that the design approaches, “Using color, texture, furniture, art and the existing elements of a house. ”

Drayton Hall by Michiels

Ms. Drayton Hall Buderer revised # 20 21 “x 25″ limited edition fine art photographer John Michiels. The work is an edition of 40, which is signed and numbered by the artist, matte and framed with glass, and retails for $ 525.

John Michiels main style is art, is his signature style of Southern Gothic. He is a mature, juried artist is represented by galleries. Interior Designer Elaine Buderer review of Drayton Hall # 20: “This is a spiritual piece. It is the serenity of tracks (provided by the classical equilibrium) with a vision of hope beyond. It would be a soothing sight in a quiet room.”

Nicky Quartermaine Scott is the owner and principal interior designer Quartermaine in Plainfield, Illinois. Her advice to buyers of art in general is “If you’re stuck choosing a color scheme for your home, look at the art of inspiration. Select a piece you really love, and start from there. Art reveal some wonderful colors you can use as a basis for your project. ”

Follow the Clouds

Ms. Scott reviewed the Italian artist Mauro Celotti large landscape titled Follow the Clouds. Is 50 “x 40″ original acrylic on gallery wrap canvas priced at $ 3600. Celotti is a mature, professional artist, formally trained and juried, abstract painting, modern, surrealist and figurative subjects.

Scott Follow the review of the clouds: “This piece is reminiscent of Van Gogh, but with a twist. I love the color orange, gray and white. It has a masculine quality, with a strong diagonal line and movement, but the soft, undulating land reflects well on the mother nature herself. ”

So, to return to the rules for the purchase of art, if you need a second opinion should have no doubt that one. However, it appears that the driving force behind each of these professionals is the assessment that they liked the artwork and how they could use in a room. Therefore, if you love and can afford it, it deserves a place on your wall.
